Now you may be asking yourself: What is Venturing?
Venturing is a BSA program for male and female youth and adults aged 14-21 (or 13 and completed 8th grade) focused on leading your own adventures.
Venturing is fun because:
- You can lead your own adventures
- Plan the trips the way you desire
- Attend different types of events
- There are more shooting sports options
- Could be eligible for more scholarships
- And, you can grow more as a leader!
Some fun facts about Venturing are:
- Venturing Units are called Venturing Crews instead of Troops
- Venturing uses the same Scout Oath, Law and Sign as Scouts BSA, but Venturing has its own motto “Lead The Adventure!”
- You can be registered in Venturing BSA and Scouts BSA and work on advancement in both programs
- Scouts who are involved with Venturing stay in Scouting longer
If you are interested in the Venturing Program you can join or create a Venturing Crew alongside your unit.
